Very good find, John, shame that it got this bad.

You are right. That was a beautiful home at one time. What a shame for it to be in the condition it is now. Beautiful photograph of it.

Nice shot John. It indeed was a nice house at one time. When I see these abandoned houses I always wonder about their history such as who built it and who has lived in it. But mostly I wonder why it was allowed to deteriorate and then abandoned.

Looks like it was a fine home in it's day John. Shame it was not kept up.

But now . . . ?

This old house seems like a typical story: a relatively small farm, the owners die or move away, and the farm gets purchased by a bigger farmer who incorporates it into his other land. Someone will probably get around to razing this remaining building someday. It sits northeast of Elwood, Indiana.

Nice capture and processing. As a farm kid, I hate to see these but they are fairly common anymore.

Great capture - sad story.
