For various reasons I am looking to purchase this camera, gently used of course. I have gone on eBay but sadly not to trusting after being burned there, nothing I wish to discuss to be honest. I currently have a canon R5, yes however I am struggling physically with my long lenses and even on a tripod. I won’t get into it but due to the nature of what is going on with me, I may even have to sell all my Canon equipment and just use one camera. I love taking pics of birds and have a friend who just loves hers to death for this. IDK I’m broken hearted about even the thought of seeing my gear, lord knows I have a stockpile of various equipment.

Sad story
I hope whatever ailment you have improves and you’re using your current equipment soon

Best wishes to you , hope you find one.

I stopped Bridge cameras with the P610.
Not quite as long zoom, but very compact.

I understand your decision. I also recently sold all of my Nikon DSLR and numerous lenses due to desire to simplify my photography, which has been declining because of my age. I purchased a P1000 used and feel I made the correct decision for me. I love being able to venture out with a single camera and no additional lenses. I really like the Nikon P1000.
I believe that Nikon has again begun selling the P1000 after the Covid shutdown, not positive though. Either the P950 or the P1000 would be a great camera. They are a bit heavy, but easy to use after a learning curve. My only disappointment is that I cannot use BBF.

The P900 is an excellent camera as well. Not sure why anyone would want more than an 83 X zoom…..unless there are other reasons. I bought one for my wife and she loves it. Good luck in your search.

I have a P950 that I bought a year and a half ago from Nikon (refurbished) that I just can't warm up to. I have an aftermarket instruction book, and a double battery charger with two batteries that I bought from Amazon. I have used it very infrequently.

I live outside of Philadelphia.

Can we do business?

MPB has several for sale and they come with a six month warranty. Also check KEH, they may also have some in stock. Buying used from reputable dealers usually come with a warranty which may be attractive to you if you do not know the history of the camera. Good luck with your hunt. Also, I hope whatever you are experiencing now is remedied soon in a way that is pleasing to you.

I am now looking for a gently used P1000. I had not realized that the P950 does not have M focus. What on earth were they thinking? Anyways I know it’s bulkier and a bit heavier though and hoping its not too much.

I have 2 Sony cameras, 2 Canons and 2 Nikons. The camera that goes EVERYWHERE with me is the Nikon P1000. YES, it's heavy and even feels heavier with the lens extended, BUT I am a smallish, frail 85 year old woman and the IS in this camera is so good that I never use a tripod. No problem for me at all. When I think it may have moved and my picture will be OOF, I am pleasantly surprised when I see it on my big monitor. Some pros laughed about it at first but many now have a lot of respect for to the point that they are calling it "The Beast". I'd be sick if anything happened to mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTriM0c1Zsk

PS: Another thing I love about this camera is that you can focus within an inch or so from a subject for a close-up!
I also love the Nikon P900! Not as heavy but does not shoot RAW!

I looked on the Nikon USA web site and the information they publish on their site says for the P950 it does have manual focus capabilities. Maybe I am reading this wrong but it may be worth checking it out. You may also be able to download the manual which would be able to verify one way or the other. Good luck!

I stand corrected. There is a manual focus mode. I learned something new today.
