I heard about this phenomenon several times years ago, but I haven't been able to find anything about it lately. Here's the situation.
Someone is running really fast - not holding back at all, flat out. It's like he told his brain to move those legs as fast as possible. In a situation like that, the legs are moving very fast, but the brain isn't aware of what's going on down there. The person knows he's running very fast, but it's like he's a passenger on a fast-moving vehicle.
Does that sound like anything you've heard before?
No. I used to be a runner and the times I ran as fast as I could I was aware of what I was doing. Or did I misunderstand the question?
Yes. It’s called vuja-de. The feeling that nothing like that has ever happened before.😳

I used to run fast, too. In this situation, though, it's like the body is running on auto-pilot. I wish I could find one of those articles I read, but it's not easy Googling that topic.

It has happened before, but it's rare.
The brain is fully aware of what is going on...down there.

Be careful about references to "down there". The post will be sent to The Attic.

Well, that would depend on how your mind works. 🤣
It's too late to edit the post.
