My loquats are finally ripening. Shot with a Samsung 22S+
Hopefully I will get to eat some before the birds and squirrels get to them!

As a boy growing up in Tampa, I had four of these in my yard. It was a race to see whether I was able to get some to eat or the Blue Jays. One had real light meat that was similar to a pear.
These are very good in a pie. Yes it is a race to get them before the birds.

I love citrons....I guess they're similar.
I use to eat them as a kid with my dad. Sweet but they have rather larger seeds.
Opossums get them here also....

I used to sprinkle cayenne pepper on the leaves, the squirrels did stay away, and, if you take some old cd's and tie them to the branches so that the wind turns them around and around, you won't find birds pecking at the Loquats.
