I'm posting this directly to the attic because it would end up here eventually.

So, let's hear the support for the school and forget we are talking about children. They, nor their parents, should have any say into what they are being indoctrinated with, right? Who cares what happens to them anyway?

The article:
A middle school in Boston, Massachusetts is facing backlash from parents after students were made to participate in a survey about their “gender identity” and sexual activity.

The New York Post reports that the incident took place at Eliot K-8 Innovation School. Last Thursday, school principal Traci Griffith sent an email to all parents stating that she had received “many concerns” about the “Youth Risk Behavior Survey.”

The survey was given to students in the 6th and 7th grades, and featured 54 questions in total. Administered by Boston Public Schools, the questions focused on such topics as “transgenderism,” suicide, bullying, drug use, sexual activity, weight, and exercise.

One of the survey’s top questions reads: “A transgender person is someone who does not feel the same inside as the sex they were born with. Are you transgender?” Another question asked students if they have “ever participated in oral sex,” while another asked if they have “seriously thought” about committing suicide.

Jill Carter, executive director of the school district’s Office of Health and Wellness, announced that parents will be able to publicly voice their concerns about the incident during a virtual meeting on Thursday.

One mother, Deirdre Hall, denounced the survey as “entirely inappropriate” since many of the students didn’t even understand the terms or concepts about which they were being asked, including her sixth-grade daughter.

“She said half her class didn’t even know what any of this stuff meant,” Hall described. “Now they’re coming home and asking their parents and their friends, ‘What’s oral sex?’”

Another parent anonymously said that she was “outraged” by the survey, as well as the fact that parents were not informed of the survey in advance.

“To go on field trips the district has parents sign permission slips, but for the district to ask our children private explicit sexual questions they are able to do so without consent?” the mother asked rhetorically. “This makes no sense.”

There have been similar incidents of young students being asked inappropriate questions.

God a mighty! Sounds like a bunch of perverts are in charge of that schools education curriculum. I always thought a teachers job was to provide students with the basic academic reading, writing, arithmetic skills and leave the emotional peripherals up to the parents to deal with. Seems obvious that those schools are encouraging students to enlist in idealogies that suit there agendas.

Exactly. This is happening all across our country. The teachers have taken control of every phase of these children's lives and it needs to be stopped NOW. Schools are out of control.

Stand all the members of the school board in question and subject each individual to the same questions. Each individual will be asked to defend their actions. They will remain standing in place until ALL parents have been given satisfactory reasons why this was allowed to happen. Be sure a police agency is present to accept their new prisoners.

If "wokies" intend to push the limits then reasonable people will push back. Keep in mind the "wokies" tend to live in packs or herds. "Herd" mentality has led to the downfalls of several historical malcontents. Survival of the fittest means extinction for radical extremism. "Wokies" know this. They also know they cannot reproduce to gain support. Never going to see a pregnant "trannie."

Excellent comments by you and JRiepe before you. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It's glaringly apparent that the lefty weasels who support the teachers have not commented. I guess they find it very hard to address the truths you guys expressed.
Thanks

Comment from a lefty....

First of all, it's not about supporting the "teachers" (who you throw under the bus), but actually, the school district which assigned the survey. (Apparently, this was the only school where the parents complained).

Also, note that this is a PUBLIC SCHOOL. Public schools are paid for by the taxpayer with the goal of creating adults with the knowledge to be good functioning citizens of the society. They are NOT intended to cater to the parents' own prejudices or beliefs (That's what we have private schools for).

And I can assure you that 90% of 6th & 7th graders know what oral sex is. And many have considered suicide. And some are questioning their sexuality. And, while parents may want to delude themselves into thinking this can't be their children --- that is exactly how we get teen suicide & teen pregnancies.

And the first step to dealing with the problem, is to identify it.

First of all "teachers" was used generically to include all school administrators. If they did not support the biased, sick questions they should have said so. Just because a school is public vs private does not permit it to peddle biased propaganda (disguised as a questionnaire). Parents have an obligation to use common sense and identify shortcomings of the woke schools----public or private.

Your statement "(Apparently, this was the only school where the parents complained)." This is blatantly false and misleading. Schools all over the country have been criticized for school charades such as this one in Mass. If your comment pertained to only the Mass. school you should have said so, rather than pretend opposition to school propaganda in the article is a statistical aberration and never occurs.

Also, it does not surprise me that you would claim to know that 90% of sixth and seventh graders are familiar with oral sex. You provided no credible data to support this and your strong assurance of your knowledge sounds like this is based on personal experience or countless in depth conversations with hordes of children on the subject.

This whole discussion is disgusting and I have no wish to continue it with suspected perverts.
Go away and have a nice day.

I was quite specifically (and obviously) referring to this particular survey assigned by the Boston School district.

I know this from having once been a 6th and a 7th grader (in the 1970s!). And I do like to keep up on current trends, because you know, I'm intelligent, and like to understand the world as it actually is, and not live in a fantasy bubble like most of the conservatives here.

You say "I was quite specifically (and obviously) referring to this particular survey assigned by the Boston School district.", but the implication was otherwise, it appears to be universal in context.

Though your last paragraph was humorous it was full of misconceptions, distortions and a complete misunderstanding of reality and merely confirms what I have suspected from the outset of this conversation. Pls realize that I am not arguing with you but merely, politely, pointing out what is true.

You and your modus operandi remain questionable about how you validate your beliefs from the 70's. It would have to be by personal experiences or mega-multi conversations or hearsay. I will request again that you stop bothering me with your misinformed posts as I am uncomfortable corresponding with suspected perverts.

Not going to have that conversation with my Granddaughters... Sorry, and I don't think that it is appropriate for the schools to have it either. In fact if I were to have such a conversation with my granddaughters I am pretty certain that their parents would prohibit me from seeing them any further.

Well said.

I believe your comments quite nicely reflect the opinion of most people and if I'd replied to her/him I would only be redundant and wasting my time on people who have an entirely different value system .
