The 590 nm is my favorite go-to end filter for my full spectra camera.

Yes, so do I. I use it more than my 680nm, If I want B&W I use the 850nm.

Actually, I get better B&W by using a 590nm filter rather than one with a longer wavelength. Reason is that the 590nm filter allows more visible light which when converted to B&W results in better gray scale.

Certainly the longer wavelengths produce an immediate B&W, but the results are just more harsh looking, and just don't show the same beauty.

Nice! Shows the variation available with 590nm. But actually there is even more variation available if you want it.

We are not limited to 590nm filters. Even an orange filter can produce interesting results on a full spectrum camera.

First image is the rather ugly result one gets straight out of the camera with no adjustments.

Second image is without a channel swap. Just adjusted Hue/Saturation/Luminance in Lightroom where I adjusted the sky and the trees separately.

Third image started with the original and did a Temp = -100K with Red-Blue Swap and then a Split Green adjustment. Then went to Hue/Saturation/Luminance and improved the orange color.

Same here, it's so flexible :)
Mind you that doesn't stop me playing with odball filters like U330 & BG3
