He says that it is an AF lens and you can see quite clearly from his photos that it is indeed an AF lens. AF lenses were prior to the D lenses. Same lens, but without distance reporting. You must have the screw drive in the camera for autofocus. His D90 would work great with this lens.

Hope this helps

That’s BS I hVe D lenses and the are all AF.

If this is not the AF-S f/2.8G lens, then I'm afraid I'll have to back out of this. The photos you presented do not show the full writing on the barrel, but I'm pretty sure, this is not the lens I thought you were offering. If I'm wrong, please clarify; otherwise, feel free to place it back on the UHH Market place.

First of all, the description shows exactly the information about this lens:
It is a Nikon 105mm 2.8 Macro AF (See pics) - This is NOT A "D" or a "G" version.
In addition, I added that this lens AF won't work with a camera that does not have an AF motor.
I don't understand the confusion.

First off, the picture does not show the full description of the lens. For your information a D lens will also not AF on a camera that does not have a AF motor. I can tell from what I see this lens is not a G lens which leads me to believe it is a D lens because it looks exactly like a D lens that I have.

augieg27 please ignore UHH member leftj's defamatory and threatening statements and blatant abuse of this Forum's rules. I've already reported UHH member leftj to the Buy/Sell Forum Admin for his grossly inappropriate actions and conduct in this thread (i.e. Your Sales Post here)..

For your information I for one know exactly what Nikkor lens you are selling from your posted images.
It is clearly NOT a "D" variant but an AF variant none the less and one of Nikon's finest micro Nikkors.
Wishing you are the best on your efforts to market this Nikkor here on this UHH Forum and I am sadden by the abuse you've had to endure so far, hopefully the Forum Admin with intervene on your behalf. Abusive rhetoric as no place in this Forum and is limited to the UHH "Attic" Forum exclusively.

Again augieg27 all the best on your journey

Totally unfair characterization of me Thomas. I am not the only one asking questions and not getting straight answers and yet you singled out me. Don't know what I have done to you in the past other than make at least one purchase from you.

In an effort to clarify the difference between the two Nikon AF Micro 105mm f2.8 Nikkors I'm posting imagery which I hope and trust will allow all UHH members to identify the (MKI & MKII) variants.

The first two images are from an experienced and knowledgeable comrade Photographer based in Ukraine.
His analysis (Translated from Russian) follows...

"...The difference between the models:

The MKI version was released from June 1990 to October 1993, and the MKII c was released from 1993 to 2006. Both lenses were designed for use on film cameras. Perhaps some MKII lenses have a different enlightenment.

MKI is not able to transmit the focus distance to the camera and is 'Non-d'lens (this key difference in the functionality of the lens). With lenses Non-d'harder to get the right measurement exposure, especially when using the flash in some automatic modes.

In practice, I did not find any significant difference between MKI and MKII."

The final image is of my own copy of the MK-II D variant which was one of my very first quality portrait lenses.

Hope this helps all involved...

Thank you Thomas, actually I haven't put any attention to his statements because apparently he does not know much about Nikon lenses.

Question, are you interested in buying this lens?
If not, what's exactly your problem?
There is enough clear information given in the description and photos show exactly what kind of lens it is for someone interested in buying it. In fact it is SOLD AND PAID FOR from someone that knows Nikon lenses.
I have sold many items thru this platform and have never ever question my integrity,

FYI - I am the person who bought the lens from you. I have paid you the $210 PayPal earlier today. So if you don’t want to sell it to me please return the $210 to me.

Sorry but I didn't realize you were the buyer.
