[quote=rbenotti] (I really want to find a good landscape camera - none of these seem to handle that super well anyway - they just do ok). I'm just not there (yet or unless I find a deal that makes it really hard to say no to).

If you're looking for a really good landscape camera, check out the Nikon Z7ii. You may find that it checks all the boxes - it did for me.

I so agree with gvarner. Your own development in skill will surpass any upgrade at this time.

Given the type of photography you expect to be doing during the next year or so it would seem to me that the 7500 is the logical choice. That coupled with a fast AF IS lens would make a great combination for your purposes. But I also know that budget has to be taken into account. People usually think of body first then a lens. I did the opposite this past time. I picked the lens that I wanted first then a body to go with it. Eventually I will get the "ideal" body and use my current body as a backup. People's shelves are full of unused lenses that they purchased only to upgrade to better glass later on.

Yeah, time will tell what I end up going with. For the short term anyway it’s try to make better progress with what I have. Tonight, for example, S mode appears to have been better than M, A or sport. Light inside gym’s is terrible. 🤣

I have the 7100 and the 7500. I like the 7100 because it has a battery pack, but I would like to get a 7200 because it is a better camera, can take a battery pack and has two card slots.

However, DSLRs are on the way out. All new technology will be mirrorless. I think that you would be better served to move to mirrorless. Crop or full frame. It seems that all the camera manufacturers are putting all their energies into full frame, and using crop cameras as an afterthought. Crop frame cameras do have some advantages, and maybe they will expand the system.
