I recently made a little travel ukulele based on one I saw online. I like to have everything in case, so I made a little case for the little uke. I'm not a carpenter or a cabinet maker, but I never shy away from a challenge, and this was challenging at every step. The covering material is called Tolex, and it's used on guitar cases and amplifiers. It's like a tough vinyl. I got it from Stewart-MacDonald.

Wow, that is one professional looking piece of work. Love that you took the pains to exactly match the pattern from the lid to the case. Sweet!

Jerry, beautiful work. Could there be a side business here that would help you fund some new ukes? Or possibly another lens or camera body?

As a retired guitarist who used to work for Gibson at one point, I can testify that this is really well-done! Getting real Tolex used to be really challenging, so I'd guess that might have taken more than a minute or two of your time. Plus, gluing it down properly is a challenge unto itself. Again, really nice job!
