Once upon a time when our politicians did not tend to apologize for our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our great country.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early '60s when DE Gaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DE Gaulle
said he wanted all US military out of
France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded,
"Does that include those who are buried here?"
DE Gaulle
did not respond.
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When in England, at a fairly large conference,

Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury

if our plans for Iraq were just an example of

'Empire Building' by George Bush.

He answered by saying,

"Over the years, the United States has sent many of
its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for

freedom beyond our borders.

The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return

is enough to bury those that did not return."

You could have heard a pin drop........Amen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France
where a number of international engineers were taking part,
including French and American.
During a break, one of the French engineers came back into
the room saying,
"Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done?
He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia
to help the tsunami victims.
What does he intend to do,
bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:
"Our carriers have three hospitals on board
that can treat several hundred people,
they are nuclear powered and can supply
emergency electrical power to shore facilities,
they have three cafeterias with
the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day,
they can produce several thousand gallons of
fresh water from sea water each day,
and they carry half a dozen helicopters for
use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.
We have eleven such ships,
how many does France have?"
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A U.S. Navy Admiral

was attending a naval conference

that included Admirals from the

U.S., English, Canadian, Australian, and French Navies.

At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with

a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks,

but a French admiral suddenly complained that,

whereas Europeans learn many languages,

Americans learn only English.

He then asked,

"Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences

rather than speaking French?"

Without hesitating,

the American Admiral replied,

"Maybe it's because the
Brits, Canadians, Aussies, and Americans

arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak

German."

You could have heard a pin drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND
THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting,
an elderly gentleman of 93,
arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs,
he took a few minutes to locate his passport in
his carry on.
"You have been to France before, monsieur?"
the customs officer asked
sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting
admitted that he had been to France
previously.
"Then you should know enough
to have your passport ready."
The American said,
"The last time I was here,
I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible"
Americans always have to show their passports on
arrival in France!"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look.
Then, he quietly explained,
''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on
D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country,
I couldn't find a single Frenchman
to show a passport to."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If
you are proud to be an American, pass this on!

If not, delete it.

I am proud to be of this land -- AMERICA

I am proud to be an American.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

TOMORROW

AND FOREVER

LONG MAY OUR FLAG WAVE

Why not add to the list June 16th, 2016 when trump was confronted with evidence of Russia interfering with our elections, Trump quickly sided with the Russians, saying that he had asked Putin and Putin denied it and that he, (Trump) didn't see any reason why Russia would, questioning our own intelligence agencies.
You can't buy patriotism like that. Unless you're buying it for Russia and the President is for sale, as I suspect Donnie Fatboy Trump was.

Don’t break your arm typing to pat yourself on the back. Remember that roses grow on thorn bushes.

America is a great country, and I can’t think of another nation that I would want as my neighbor; but humility has never been a defining characteristic for a large segment of the population.

I enjoyed the stories related by the OP. They are based on truths, values and virtue. But you might ask yourself why those awkward situations even happened.

Trump was prescient and right about not trusting our Intelligence agencies. Even though Putin presents a threat, he is not as bad as our own FBI and CIA who can be assumed to be political hacks yelling, “Russia collusion!” and “Russian disinformation!” and proving utterly discredited in pushing lies about Trump-Putin collusion and the Hunter Biden “Russian” laptop.

And regarding that, China is far richer than Russia and far more of a threat to this country. Yet the Biden family has had 15 years of profitable financial entanglements and is utterly compromised by them proven by the utter detriment his decisions have wrought on our country.

Your fervent support of Trump and escalating denial of the truth about him (and I don't mean the Russia, Russia stuff; I mean he is a despicable human being) is driving you dangerously close to the precipice of no return. What will you do when the majority of Republicans finally dump the chump?

Why is Trump such a despicable human being? Is he worse than Joe Biden's corruption in taking bribes from our enemies? Worse than Joe Biden opening our southern border to death, destruction, and terrorism? Worse than Joe Biden abandoning our armaments to terrorists in Afghanistan who will use them to kill Americans?

Is Trump a worse liar than Biden? Biden said border patrol agents on horseback “whipped” Haitian immigrants on the southern border hoping that if you repeat a lie often enough, it will soon become truth.

Biden proclaimed, “We will not leave Afghanistan until every American is evacuated”. At least 100 (and likely many more) were left behind, abandoned, along with many more Afghan allies. In addition, Biden claims a righteous strike on ISIS-K terrorists killing ten innocent civilians including seven children. Do you believe Biden’s hands are clean concerning this decision? By the way, according to Biden, the evacuation from Afghanistan was a tremendous success. Really? Now that's shameful and despicable.

That is just the beginning of Biden's despicableness in his first two years as president. It continues even worse. But where are your facts to back up what you said about Trump? And you have his entire 4 years to draw from.

Don’t mislead people with half truths.

Of the 100 “ American” citizens / many were dual
Afghani/Americans and didn’t want to leave.

Biden has his warts for sure but spread so many falsehoods
