I'd like to see his hands. You have to have meat hooks to use some of the old tools.

Yes they were a working man’s hands. He’s been gone many years now. Born in the 1890’s.

Everything works fine in spite of heavy use a century ago. They don’t make things like they used to.

Nice image! Monotone really works here.

Those push drills are really handy tool to have for small jobs like screw pilot holes - I have one in my toolbox.

Very nice! I have a virtually identical set of tools, left to me by an older man who passed 25 years ago. He left me his entire wooden tool chest that contains several other antique tools. Your image inspires me to try to do photographic justice to them.

Yes I agree regarding mono. Seems appropriate given their vintage. I admit some predjudice though as I was raised in TriX and the like.

A brace and bit and a yankee drill. Yup. Cool stuff. Those guys were true craftsmen.

Yankee Drill? Never heard them called that before - Yankee screwdrivers here (U.K.). I've got several of them, one in very good condition and I use when the battery runs out on the cordless.

Very nicely composed photo, especially in B&W. I have similar tools from my grandfather and dad as well.

I have those same tools. I don't know how old they are though.

Yup. Everything in photo still functions properly although most of the bits have seen a lot of use. My son will get them when I cash in.
