Hello my friends. Now that I have gone down the road of full frame FX cameras and heavy glass, my bride tells me she would like to learn photography. Something that takes a EN-EL15 battery would be a bonus. If you are in Richmond, VA I could add in a pretty pie!

I have a D5500 that will cost around $400 and a D80 for $100. Your choice.

Kervin, you can set your D750 to Dx mode and use it with any of your lenses. No need for a $100 camera.

I also own the D5500. It is a great mid-entry level DSLR. The only draw back is it's FPS at 3-5, when shooting BIF you need faster FPS. I bought the D500 for that need. I have owned the D5500 for 8 years, no problems at all.
I am letting my 39 year old son use it to learn bird photography. I also let my 6 year old grandson use to take pictures to get him interested early.

Thanks for the help. Someone at work gifted me a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with a kit lens. That is enough to get her started.
