When I worked in the central office 50 years ago for South western bell telephone as a switch man we had a contact cleaner it was tryclorothrifluroethane.a don't quite know the spelling but we called it liquid sitchman.we had step by step switching equipment.

That's the reference. The movie is over 20 years old, and I still use that line regularly. Especially in threads like this where it is SO relevant. ;-)
And apparently Windex-solves-all-problems was a real thing for Nia Vardalos' father while she was growing up. So she just put it in the script.

That's interesting. It does do a good job cleaning almost everything.

I heard duct tape also doesn't fix stupid but it sure does muffle the sound.
