The Mississippi Delta that created the area around New Orleans has been created in our collective human life-times. As recently as 5000 ish years ago, the Great Pyramid in Egypt was built and that entire Delta region of lower Louisiana did not yet exist. That is the sign of Old Man River coming.

Read something recently about the government marking walking trails on federal lands, by marking trees as far back as a hundred years ago. Like the Appalachian Trail and trails on Federal Lands. There are still many scarred trees out there, but they can use GPS now. Garmins etc...The scars were about 5' off the ground, eye height...
