My REAL biggest gripe is people not liking my photos when they should.

Mine is looking at photo's that aren't level…..

A great little tip is holding the camera above one’s eye. Slowly bring the viewfinder down to your eye. The image that is in the viewfinder will have a horizon. Trees or sides of buildings make for great perpendiculars. It does take time to develop this trick. It will eventually become habit.

My biggest gripe is when I come to UHH and ask a question.….

Many people can be rude because there is a great deal of anonymity. Whenever someone is here and talks down to me or berates me, I will set them straight. If that person points out a mistake or flaw In something I wrote, I try to be quick to apologize. We should be all here to learn from each other. However, I came to the Ugly Hedge Hog shortly after I purchased a dSLR. I am learning both digital and still goofing around with film. So I make a mistake and I learn got the next set. Occasionally, the “Admin” sets me straight. BTW, I do have a few favorites who give good insight!

I agree. I’ve told my kids that when you know you are right, stick by your guns. If you find you are mistaken, apologize.

simple, good upbringing usually lasts a lifetime, and it's always good to pass it on to your kids!

Me, too. I shoot mostly candid (moving Great-Grandson!). Straightening is easy in PSE, but filling in the resultant empty spaces can be a challenge which autofill can't do.

Have you tried straightening in Adobe Camera RAW? You can even do it for JPEGs. ACR is my go-to for straightening (and I use PSE).
