Why don’t you read USDA instead of NBC. My point was only that it affects all poultry. That it is primarily isolated to egg laying operations could be attributed to many factors such a geographic. Of course the supply reduction affects cost but this virus was first detected in an Indiana turkey operation and infected both broiler and egg laying flocks so who’s “mouthing off.’

Actually I’m not sensitive at all and I’m glad y’all got that internet out there in the woods in Missouri so you can use that googly thing but your tone can be a bit condescending and I have grown to accept that. I know where you are coming from so keep it up.

Why you snarky?

There are numerous stories about the laying hens being decimated while the meat hens were not nearly as severely affected.

Maybe you should research things before going snark...

According to the National Poultry Council avian flu affects chickens, ducks and turkeys and have been known to affect other bird species.

It's crossed over into a totally different species, bears.

"Why are eggs going up but chicken is not" Google is your friend. Several should come up.

Not to mention, a link to one story has already been provided in this thread by another poster...

I am not seeking to prove anything to you...don't care what you want to believe.

Actually he can be blamed in part for it.... feed prices have risen since farmers use diesel fuel for their tractors, the semi trucks that haul the product to the distribution point. Feed to farmers and eggs to the processor, and from them to the end user. So it's not all avian flu that has caused this issue

You neglected to show any evidence that Biden is responsible for the price of diesel.

That's because Joe Biden's energy policies have raised the price of fossil fuels just as he intended.

Biden’s war on the fossil fuel industry which is tanking our economy has made it impossible for us to use economic leverage to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. Because we are no longer energy independent, we cannot provide Europe the energy they need as an alternative to buying Russian oil, which has been financing their Ukraine war.

The economic sanctions we put on Russia have hurt our economy worse than Russia’s. Russia’s economy is better off today than it was at the start of the war almost a year ago. In short, Joe Biden’s energy policies are financing Russia’s war against Ukraine, something you, the Left, and the Democrat media have completely ignored.

As always, you are long on hyperbole, and short on details.

The oil companies are price gouging, making BILLIONS each quarter in profits, instead of lowering the price of refined products!

Explanation I heard is that chickens raised for meat are different than egg laying hens and were not susceptible to the avian flu. The 40-50 million hens lost were mostly the egg layers.

"Why are eggs going up but chicken is not" Just enter that phrase into your search engine...Google is your friend. Several stories should come up.

If you are too lazy to that, read this thread, a link has already been provided.

I am not going to spoon feed you stories that are widely available in the media. Do some homework.

No there are many different types of birds, the most common meat bird is the Cornish cross that just eats and grows very fast. They are only 3 to 4 weeks old when processed for Cornish hens. The uaslly will de full grown in 10 weeks. They are full grown then ad will die of heart attack within 13 week of age. Mist other chickens can live for 10 years. The egg production drops off drastically after 3 years.
