Seen that yesterday. One of thee best. I doubt anyone could play a lot of his music the way he did. A true original.

So sad, I heard about Jeff at about 4:30 PST. I own nearly all his albums.

Very saddening... I had all of his pre-80 LPs which were lost in the hurricane Ian flooding... I guess I'm relegated to online digital versions from now on.... sigh......

Jeff was my all time favorite musician. I loved his jazz fusion recordings, but for me they weren't his best because he continued to get better for his entire career. Also, he was always much better live than in the studio. I would recommend these:

Live at Ronnie Scotts - a show in a small jazz club in 2007:

Where Were You - One of his trademark beautiful, lyrical pieces, and a master class on using the whammy bar - he could actually play a melody on it:

Jeff goes classical with the Nessun Dorma:

Later in his career, after doing mostly instrumental music he started working with singers again. This is Rosie Bones of the group Bones UK:

Jeff was my all time favorite musician. I loved hi... (show quote)

Nice and Thanks. In addition to all the many albums that Jeff Beck played on that I have I also have The Live At Ronnie Scott's DVD, Live In Tokyo DVD, and the Rock 'n' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul DVD.

One time my daughter took me to a ZZTop concert and Beck came on before ZZ. Not really my type of music but one heck of a guitar player. Better than ZZ.

I saw him once with Rod Stewart and Santana at The Gorge in eastern Washington. Great setting overlooking the Columbia River. First Beck, then Rod Stewart, then Santana. Great show, hot, lots of marijuana before it was legal here in Washington. Beck and Steward used to tour together a lot.

I learned to play his version of Green Sleeves by listening to the record over and over again. What a great player.
