I had family there, I have run 3 NYC marathons in the 1990s and loved the city. While I ran ran the Marathons my wife was able to walk the streets around Central Park until it was time to meet me at the family reunion area. I won't step foot into the city now. That's a shame because I never did get to B&H.

I live and work there. I live the city. I’m used to the traffic, buses, trains, taxis, yelling, hot dog stands, bustling, and even the occasional nice person trying to sell Rolex watches, Tiffany diamonds, break dancing and loud radios. JUST KIDDING!

It is a great city!!!

I would like to visit B&H. Can someone tell me how you arranged it? Thanks.

abc1234!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the B&H Depth of Field Conference February 7-8, 2023 at the New Yorker Hotel, a block East of their store at 8th Avenue. The latest of their annual FREE conferences. Don't know when you're coming!

See here and to register: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bh-depth-of-field-2023-conference-tickets-482691873387

My business used to buy approximately every month $5 to 10K darkroom supplies, paper and film when we had our custom photo lab down the street and across 6th Avenue to their old 17th Street location. Their prices for these supplies at retail were cheaper than Kodak's wholesale prices because they bought so much!

Be well! Ed

You could just go to NYC and walk in the front door.

Buy factory refurbished. Full warranty and know that EVERY function has been checked.

Do your really believe that when you purchase a factory refurb that they had some one check each and every one of a couple of hundred functions?

Not a chance they checked all functions. They probably get it plug it into a diagnostic computer and look at it

It is a great city but we no longer feel safe going there. Kudos to you for being able to live and work there. I have lots of great memories there, my grandparents lived at 470 West End Ave, then on 36 East 36th. From what I can see now they are very high-rent districts but my grandparents were blue-collar workers.

I ran 3 NYC Marathons in the 90s when Rudy was Mayor and the Yankees were hot. Nothing like running the 5 boroughs, I have some great memories from the Marathon that is the best in the world.

I took off from work today. I have a few things to do. On my list, head over to my favorite store (B&H) and pick up some toys.

I walked into the store when it opened, just like any other store.

I went there several years ago and was overwhelmed. I would like to make one suggestion: Look all you want but be careful on reaching for that credit card. OUCH! I have a home in New Hampshire where there is no sales tax. They shipped my purchase to my NH address and I saved the sales tax. Next time I go to BH I am going to put a bunch of fish hooks in my pockets... Have fun looking.

Actually it's a lot safer than when you thought it was safe. In those days the news didn't have the ability, or inclination, to cover muggings and random violence. Crime had been decreasing year by year for quite a long time.

If you put fish hooks in your pockets, you will walk funny for one or two reasons.

Love to fact check that statement. Random attacks on people sky rocking.

As stated, it's a store. Just walk in. BUT, like going to a casino, don't enter with any more money than you're willing to spend. They are masters at the legitimate but expensive upsale. And yes, they are closed on Jewish holidays including the ten days leading up to Yom Kippur and of course every Shabbat, Friday sundown to Saturday evening when three stars are visible.

Hi Steven,

Thank you for coming to visit us today. It's always a great pleasure to meet a fellow UHH member and I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to show them around. I hope you found our time together informative and well spent. I certainly enjoyed showing you the effort and resources we expend to put the customer first and foremost and deliver a pleasant and stress free shopping experience be it in-store or online.

Thank you for all the kind compliments you pay us here on UHH and for your patronage. I look forward to seeing you here on UHH and to say "Hi" the next time you stop by the store.

All the best to you and yours.

HERSHEL
