My Doesn't Want a Camera other than Her Phone

My wife didn't want a camera other than her phone (an S22 and almost had to force her to get that to replace her hand-me-down S9. She did appreciate the upgrade.) But I did notice that she only used half her binocular (looking with one eye). So I had my daughter get her a monocular with a sell phone adapter after a bird watcher let her take pictures through his scope last fall. The mini tripod that came with monocular would not work with the cell phone attachment. So I am letting her use my tabletop tripod (which I almost never use.) Here is the result. A lot of work to not want a camera. But she has taken some good photos of her birds.

Good, buy the camera you would like and present it to your wife. When she says, " I don't want this." you take with a big smile and send her a thank you text.

She is happy with her phone? So what is the big deal if she doesn't want a camera. Sounds like you have the problem, not her.

There is a camera in her phone, so technically she has a camera. 😉😉. Their main drawback is that their accessories like lenses and external flash don’t provide the quality and adaptability that a dedicated camera body does. At least that’s my humble opinion.

I always go by this bit of wisdom. When the wife is not happy, nobody's happy!

Again, the BEST camera is the one you have with you!
I have the S21 5G, and get great impromptu shots with it.
Shorter learning curve for the S22!

I did that to wife of 46 years when we got married--a 357 magnum the first year, a good fishing pole the next. After that , she told me if I did something like that again, I would find it where the sun does not shine. :>)
I did have a good pistol and fishing pole though. :>)

Mine too, I totally agree. A phone may work in an emergency but not for taking great photos on a consistent basis.

It depends on how you rate a photo as “great”.

The sales figures tell the story...the best camera for nearly everyone is the smartphone camera.
