Any workshops I’ve attended will suggest a second body but never state it’s a requirement. My last workshop, I brought a Canon R5 and bunch of lenses for 95%+ of the shots and a Canon G1x iii for casual stuff. The “only” time I use my phone is if I want a general lat/long fix. One brought brought only a Sony RX10 iv.

Beyond that I don't know nuthin'.

All I said was that if your remarks were edited only you could do it. He was the one under the delusion that your post was edited and that the moderator did it.

Where have you been? Like with twitter--the moderator removes even a hint of smell of political criticism. The only thing you see of Fantom is nothing---there was a paragraph or more when I said I agreed with the remarks. Don't you get it?----It was disappeared one way or the other. Now does that answer this and put it to rest?----Probably not with the snarkies on this site? Again---you say only the poster can delete or move or edit posts. Wake up-------the moderator does that. ----------------

The moderator can and will delete a post if there is political content. They will not edit a post. It appears that you are just clueless about who made the comments in the first place.

Cancel the workshop if you can. If they tell you to bring 2 cameras they expect you to have 2 cameras after you're done with the workshop. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to do a lot of things they teach you.

If the admin or moderator is really doig his or her job they would remove, delete, or banish all this bickering, arguing, and name-calling that has nothing to do with the crux of the topic at hand? Thereis nothing wrong with debating over the photographic issue that is under discussion but this kind of arguing is about forum procedure and rules and is mostly unnecessary accusatory, immature, and infantile behavior.

If there is a legitimate argument about procedure or rules, the admin or moderator should post a reminder and proceed to break up the verbal brawl. Saying that this rude, annoying, and disruptive behavior is part of the "culture" of the forum is useless and only tends to exacerbate the problem.

I can understand why political debate and opinionating are not allowed. There is certainly an endless drone of commentary, propaganda, conspiracy theories, and scuttlebutt on cable television, network TV, radio, podcasts social, and print media which is accessible to all on a 24/7 basis- we do not need it here. The ongoing hostilities are just as annoying.

I do not expect this form to operat like a courtroom or a session of a legislature with the rules of parliamentary procedure in place - but a little kindness, decorum, and good manners would go a long way. In short, someof y'all need to grow up or go home!

Well, as the original poster, this has been ... eye-opening.

I appreciate each of the relevant replies, and have reached out to the workshop organizers (Muench).

As to how the topic went sideways in a big hurry, I guess it's just the Internet doing its thing.

Sounds like you have hooked up with someone who has a very high opinion of themselves - when I studied with Ansel Adams one was enough - lenses are interchangeable, and trying to shoot two cameras at once is tough

Depends on what you're doing. I shoot timelapses, often with two cameras going at once, but with different lenses.... and have done it with three cameras, two for timelapses, one for perfectly timed stills. This image is from a moonrise behind Rainier. This shot is from one of three timelapses, but I knew I would have to reframe a couple times as the action progressed, as I was purposefully zoomed way in, for detail on Tahoma and a big moon. This is a low rez copy....

Thanks, Joe. I don't post often here, but I should.....That shoot was one of many that I have nailed the location and timing perfectly, thanks to photoephemeris and photopills

We have the Attic for politics, what about the "Basement" for the "not on topic" incorrible squabblers who want bicker about every jot & tittle.

Great idea!

Think of a creative title for the "Basement", Like the "cellar dungeon, sewer, Gladiators Section (see image), The Bitchig Hitch, Landfill, Waste Management, Reform School, or Jail House?

I've been on sites (not photography oriented) that had a basement for off topic discussions. But they were more like our chit-chat. Instead of an attic, one had a door that said "Don't let this door hit you in the butt on your way out".
