My computer has stopped letting me download anything. If I click on download nothing happens. It used to show it downloading. Now it shows nothing and I don't get the download. Running windows 10 on PC. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Check the bottom line on your screen. I have seen times I have downloaded and thought nothing happened but there is a tab on the status line with the download results.

That's the part I used to see but no more. I've tried to download many things and checked thru my computer to see if it appeared anywhere but it doesn't. I recently tried to download safari to try and nothing anywhere. This has been going on for the last 2-3 months.

Can you locate your download folder?

Do you change where to download is being saved? I save all downloads to my desktop. After I install it, I move it to my downloads folder.

Computers are nasty. They do things like that just for fun. My computer occasionally cuts out the audio. I had no sound yesterday, but it's back today.

Download a file and note the name. Wait a moment and do a search for that name. I use "Everything" for searching. It works very well.

I've had to do that....
Each user has a "download" folder, plus the generic download folder.
♫♪"Where oh where has my download file gone,
where oh where can it be...."♪♫

I have over 10 "Downloads" folders in various places on my laptop...

The solution is simple. Look in the "Downloads" folder of your computer system. If you downloaded anything it will show up in that folder. If it's not there, you didn't download it!

You need more computers and fewer folders/users. One thing I do right away is put my Files, Pictures, and Downloads folders onto the D drive.

We have one "user" on each of the three computers.
There are other 'users' that Windows creates... "Default" and "Public"....
I use a "Downloads" folder I created off the root. That way I don't have to keep drilling down someplace to get to my downloads. Some applications create their own download folder.
"I" work with one downloads folder, Windows, not so much...
Firefox is configured to save to C:\Downloads.

Then, Windows puts extra "shortcut links" in Explorer, that I don't need.

Here is a bit of advice I got from the British TV program "The IT Crowd".
"Have you tried turning the computer off then on again?".
I found this works a lot of the time.
