P. 20 Looks like #3 is a disaster in progress! Yikes!! All great catches.

The waves were so powerful. These are experienced surfers and I was lucky to get a spectacular wipe out.

Wonderful pre-storm pix, Tony. Its so unusual that the harbor feels the brunt of the storm. I couldn't believe it when I saw waves crashing over the "breakwater" to Spring Point light - the last image. I haven't seen but heard Fort Preble (in the same image) sustained damage too. Both structures (and Portland Head Light) I think of as being invincible. A number of UHH folks went up Spring Point Light, saw the fort and spent time at Portland Head....

I believe that you are correct Pat. That section of the wall at Fort Preble ( left end in the photo) was badly damaged. I haven’t gone back there since the storm. Terrible damage also at Portland Head Light.

It is with sadness that I share with you the loss of fellow UHHer "Lorima" (Lorina Michelle Adkins) on August 13th. Many in this thread knew Lorima and her distinctive photo style. She was only 57 and had battled cancer for many years. She was born in Christ Church, NZ, and lived in Colorado with her husband and two sons (of whom she often spoke or posted). Lori was known for her love of family, baking, flowers, horses, nature and her photography. She was a sweet soul who came up with some extremely creative images and always an encouraging comment on the posts of others. As I recall, she also loved Disney World and traveled there with family during a time of remission.

In May 2022, Lorima hosted a challenge on birds. I had been reviewing the 2022 challenges and realized I'd not see Lorima in quite a while so, as one of her FB friends, I went to her page and that's how I learned she had passed. I searched through her UHH posts and have selected several of her images that are testament to her talent and some of the subjects she loved.
