Thanks, very much Horatio. And no problem with the delay. We've been to Fort Desoto and enjoyed it. Circle B Bar doesn't allow dogs, we have a new puppy and can't leave her, so that's out for us. Never heard of Lettuce Park and Flatwoods Park so we will definitely take a look at those. We have also been to Myakka River State Park, and liked it very much. We drove over there a couple weeks ago only to find out that it's closed for the foreseeable future. It was damaged by Hurricane Ian and no word as to how long before it will reopen.
I'll keep your list and refer to it over the next couple of weeks until we head back to the Lake Apopka area. Thank you very much!!
Did you get a chance to take a look at some of my posts from Lake Apopka and Black Point, Merritt Island? I think you will like them, I have a pretty good following here on UHH. I also have a few posts from here in Tampa on the Air Force Base and some from a rookery at New Port Richey.
Again, thank you. I do appreciate all the info from an "insider"

I have always found these, Sun Dews and Venus Flytraps fascinating!

Your images are phenomenal! You definitely know how to capture birds. I am happy to hear that you were able to check out some of the places earlier. A new puppy, we expect to see puppy images soon.
Flatwoods Park is dog friendly, so you will be able to take your dog with you. I cannot remember about Lettuce Lake Park. My apologies, I am so accustomed to seeing dogs everywhere, I cannot remember which parks allow them and which do not.

I have made a couple posts of Coco the puppy. She just turned one year old, so maybe it's time to make another post of her.
I'm glad you liked some of my photos. I joined UHH about five years ago, so I have a lot of photos hiding here. NOT just birds, but I admit, I love birds. That's the target of choice in Florida, so I have lots of them. But also Gators, Otters, Bobcats, Turtles, Turtles with Gators, etc.
