The January 6th Committee laid out four felonies that Donald Trump committed.
We're a step closer to fitting Donny for an orange jumpsuit.
Today, was a good day for America.

It's not over until he throws anyone left in his corner under the bus.

Yet, 3 million dollars and countless hours later, the Committee's findings have no legal weight.

So now what? Will they simply be yet another asterisk on Trump's presidency, or do you think Merrick Garland's DOJ will file charges?

Congrats to the 1/6 committee, and especially to its two Republican members who had the courage to put country above Trump even though doing so effectively ended their political careers, at least for now. The Committee's report and referrals to DOJ may not carry any legal weight, but it carries moral weight and lays out for history what happened. Three million dollars isn't much to pay for documentation of the what happened on 1/6. There is a lot of evidence that supports charges related to creation of the fake electoral slates and everything leading up to and including 1/6, but DOJ won't file charges unless it is sure of a conviction. I think DOJ is more likely to charge Trump with crimes related to the incredible mishandling and keeping of top secret documents, which seems much more like a slam dunk case.

I'm very hopeful that DOJ will be filing charges, and I'm confident, he'll be convicted.
Today, was a very good day.

This is a good day for our democracy. A better day will be the day that Trump puts on an orange jumpsuit to show the world that no one is above the law in our country.

There must be at least one 'convicted felon' result if either side ever wants to start banging the 'law and order drum'

without being laughed at. Even if he's only confined to his golf course, he must be recognized as a 'convicted felon'

for his casual lifestyle of one felony after the other.

If you think that was a good day for America you are nuts. It is much more like Russia, China or Venezuela jailing the opposition leader than it is a good day for America.

Do you not understand what this will do with the 49 percent of people who supported Trump in 2020. Even my wife, who was totally over Trump is back on board. The idiots on the committee have helped Trump and hurt America.

Justice Is Coming for Donald Trump
Every effort to hold Donald Trump accountable has been thwarted by those who made it someone else’s job. Not any more.

By David Frum

“Many secrets, no mysteries”: That is the basic rule of all Donald Trump scandals.

There has never been any mystery about what happened on January 6, 2021. As Senator Mitch McConnell said at Trump’s second impeachment trial, “There’s no question—none—that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.”

Thanks to the work of the congressional committee investigating the attack on the Capitol, Americans now have ample detail to support McConnell’s assessment. They know more about when and how Trump provoked the event. They have a precise timeline of Trump’s words and actions. They can identify who helped him, and who tried to dissuade him.

But with all of this information, Americans are left with the same problem they have faced again and again through the Trump years: What to do about it? Again and again, they get the same answer: “It’s somebody else’s job.”

If you have been following the work of the committee you — and any rational person — would have to conclude that they did the right thing in making the referrals based on the evidence collected to date. Just what DOJ will do is an open question, but an indictment (or several) is in order.

By your statement you are clearly saying that Trump is above the law and should be treated differently from other citizens. THAT attitude is what hurts America. You can still like his policies and the things you believe he did that were good for America, but he should not be let off the hook for criminal behaviour.

The idea that 49% of Americans would still be willing to vote for Trump is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is whether or not Trump is guilty of criminal offenses. As a Democrat, I would like to see Trump continue to make it easier for Democrats to win elections, but my wishes don't matter any more than those of your wife. The only thing that matters is that the laws of our country are upheld and justice is served. No American is above the law. I would hope that the "law and order" party would understand this concept.

The witnesses who provided damning evidence leading to these criminal referrals were Republicans, many from Trump’s inner circle. The committee did not seek out Trump haters to fabricate evidence, but did just the opposite. They interviewed Trump Republicans, Trump employees, Trump’s inner circle.
Kevin underestimated the committee from the start.

As intended.
Did you not notice the DNC spending $millions to support MAGA candidates in the recent election?
And wonder why mainstream media keeps Trump on page one every single day?
He is the candidate the Dems want to run against.
Unless he is actually tried and convicted of a felony in time to disqualify him, which is unlikely but still a possibility.

AG Garland is now going to be under intense pressure from the administration to levy some indictments. In the meantime, we get to watch another 12-18 months of investigations as the GOP opens investigations into allegations of evidence tampering, blocking minority representation, and other claims of abuse of power by the democrat stacked 1/6 committee.

The Democrat stacked 1/6 committe interviewed and got evidence from all Republicans—Trump’s appointees, Justice department, and Trump’s inner circle. They did not go shopping for adverse evidence—Trump’s actions and his own people provided it all.
