That's funny and frightening at the same time!

The thing about all those top end cameras is that — more often than not — an individual user will want a newer model before the current model is used up. OR, they will seldom use the camera, having bought it and been confused by its complexity or intimidated by a thick manual.

Many folks buy expensive cameras and give up on photography (or die) with just a few actuations on them. I inherited a Nikon FTn that had the second or third roll of film ever exposed in it in the camera. Two more rolls were in the bag with the receipt for the camera, film, lens, and case. That was 1973, when my step uncle returned from Hong Kong where he bought the stuff.

Essentially the same thing happened to a good friend in high school. Her dad was a successful heart surgeon. They had the Corvette, the mountain house, the beach house, the boat, the country club membership... and he just HAD to have two Nikon F2 bodies and six lenses. It was all in his front hall closet in a bag on the shelf when he died. Expired film in the bags was dated the year he bought the cameras. My friend said she never saw any of her dad's pictures, and her mom hadn't seen them either! Apparently, he didn't have a clue what to do, or the patience to learn. So it sat.

Wow! And to think, the same saga/story is probably repeated countless times more often than anyone cares to admit.

My theory is that a lot of gear gets sold on the used market with *very* little wear on it. You seldom see gear marked "bargain" or "ugly". Most is "Like New" or "Excellent" or "Good."

There are no errors that occur. Like I stated earlier, UsedPhotoPro does supply shutter count on Olympus Mirrorless cameras. If a seller doesn't want to state shutter count...I'll just buy from a seller that does.

From your OP:
“Thanks for reaching out, unfortunately due to that camera being a mirrorless camera and the software that tells you the shutter count causes error we are not allowed to give shutter count for this.”

Sounds to me like they are claiming the software causes errors but I guess that was not the case. Now I am sincerely regretting even trying to make a helpful suggestion to go back to the source and ask them to clarify what they meant. Why bother to do that when you can post here and get dozens of opinions from people who are just guessing?

They definitely seem to have a problem with their klunky website. I have been trying for most of the afternoon on to enter an order for a Nikon fit lens but their website just recycles itself and ignores any input when I try to enter the purchase information. I have had good luck with them before and want to buy the item from them, but I am getting tired of having to fight with their website just to enter an order

I had the same problem a few weeks ago when I was using Chrome. Then I got on the website using Firefox and the purchase went through immediately.

Shutter count on a mirrorless camera just doesn't have the same meaning as it does for DSLR cameras. Yes there is a mechanical shutter on Olympus Cameras. Most often I use anti-shock mode where there is partial use of the mechanical shutter and then there is silent mode.

Here is a video on how to determine the shutter count: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D39BY2PQ_GI.

I have purchased items from MPB. Of late they have been a little slow but I receive very nice items at a decent price. If you sell your items, remember they need to make a profit. You are selling wholesale and buying retail.

You could ask OM systems for help. I have found them very helpful on a few occasions. Remember you can return your purchase from MPB.

Well it’s good you tried. They had their chance. You can always buy the camera somewhere else if they don’t respond.

Go to a local store and give them your business.
