I am not doubting there will be criminal referrals, but where does it actually quote Mr. Thompson saying that? All I read is a reporter "saying" he said it.

The article to which I linked said "he told reporters". Those reporters are now reporting as the story is being carried by a number of news organizations.

Just as I said. A reporter said he said it. I'm just wondering why the actual quote is not in there, as there are other quotes in the article. Just bad reporting as far as I'm concerned.

Look. I'm not arguing with you or ignoring what other reporters said. I haven't read anything else on the subject yet. I'm just reading from the linked article and think it's bad reporting on this particular reporters part when you don't show the quote that confirms the article's title.
I'm just commenting on the quality of present day reporting and not the veracity of the article.
