That's correct, you have no idea....Perhaps you should check what it means to be a member of the European Union.

That is also a choice. England got out of the European Union. Perhaps you should too. When a country gives up its sovereignty to unelected officials that's on them.

I have no sympathy for countries that willingly give up their freedom.

That's pure nonsense...Again look up how the European Union works....

Let's end this never ending conversation. We've got different views to say the least...

I know how the European Union works and many decisions are made by unelected bureaucrats. To say otherwise is nonsense.

I do agree that we have differing views. The pure nonsense is trying to claim that countries are not losing their sovereignty due to the control the European Union exerts.

I have never said that you are stupid, nor will I ever say that, but if you don't believe that individual countries are not giving up part of their sovereignty to belong to the European Union then I really don't know what to say.

Yes because he's making noise and is repeating himself on and on. He's a sad troll...

I live in a country with a very dense population.
I live in a very small country, 237 times smaller than the USA.

But I also live in a country that is the World’s Second Largest Food Exporter!!!

The farmers in The Netherlands have known for 40 years that they need to change. The agricultural lobby, the farmers and the Rabobank (Hollands biggest Bank) have caused the current situation, where court now has decided that change need to happen one way or the other.

Do you think it's normal that the soil where we grow food is dead, no life in the soil whatsoever because of all the toxic and chemical goods injected and sprayed over it?

Little nature that we have is suffering and decreasing, 18 million people have virtually nowhere to go to relax in their free time. We produce far too much food and fly this food around the world against a price that's far too low, but also far too high when it comes to pollution.

A part of the famers in some area's have to change their way of farming. A very decent amount of farmers already switched to a more sustainable way of farming. The other option is to sell their farms to the government at 120 % of the current value.
Some will stop voluntary, some will change and some will be seized farming.
This is a challenge but also a possibility for farmers abroad.

Why should the Netherlands produce food for the rest of the world and at the same time put enormous pressure on the environment?
We need to build homes for young people and refugees although this is environmentally suicide combined with the stress that farmers are causing with their way of farming.

The world won't starve when Dutch farmers are reducing production. Most of it is luxury food or meat that third world countries can't even afford. Failing production In Ukraine is a bigger threat...

A 40 year battle is finally coming to an end....
Yes because he's making noise and is repeating him... (show quote)

what do you not understand that the soil microbiome can be restored????? and what do you not understand the the value of the farms is decided by the government...not farmers that havebeen there for generations...hell yes, quit growing food & make way for immigrants!!

The problem I described has got nothing to do with climate change. Again, 40 years is enough time to change the way of farming. This hasn't been done by every farmer. Some did change and earn good money. Others still have the possibility to change. A huge part of the farmers kept investing heavily, thinking that what was decided years ago, wouldn't happen. That's plain stupid. Some younger farmers even started a new business although they knew the agricultural industry had to shrink.... Every industry needs to make changes in order to survive. No exception for the agricultural business.

If you're so afraid of food shortage, the best way forward is shrinking livestock. All the land used for growing corn for livestock can be used to feed humans. The nitrogen concentration will be decreased as well. Win - win situation. This is also part of change farmers could consider.

The problem that exists in The Netherlands (and Belgium) is non-existing in France, Germany and for example Poland. They've got plenty opportunity to expand their agricultural business. It's because the dense population and lack of space we're having issues. The Netherlands have claimed quite some land from the sea, but this is a pretty expensive way of solving current space issues...
The problem I described has got nothing to do with... (show quote)

Well then, you've just nailed down your real problem. It's not farming, it's procreating!

Historically speaking there are only a few things in a capitalistic society that create wealth. These are in no particular order, Manufacturing (making things), Mining (fossil fuels, precious metals, industrial materials), and Farming (livestock, agriculture, and fishing).

Every other job leverages those industries with all of them leveraging farming. It was literally the great leap forward 10 thousand or more years ago that allowed societies to form and specialize.

Read this or not. I don't care, but this tells you how bad the European Union Parliament really is. If you can read this and still think that the European Union is good for anything, then that's on you.
