The first rule of the AI button is you don't discuss the AI button.

Where is this AI button? On a camera? On a software program? Not enough information.

The second rule of the AI button is to see rule #1.

I have seen "Ai" on a mode dial representing the "Green Zone".

I checked it out once. Found it not especially useful. Worst thing is it canceled out my personal settings.

OK its not colored green, but its nevertheless the "Green Zone".

Heres one in green, very typical.

The first photo? That’s not iA, that’s the setting you use when taking a picture of a stepladder. And the opposite one isn’t a motion picture camera and an M, it’s the setting for taking photos of train whistles. And why is there a setting for Soybean Cyst Nematode? SCN is something any row crop farmer understands.

This is why I shoot Nikons. None of those crazy settings. I don’t think I’ve ever taken a photo of a stepladder or train whistle.

I believe you'll soon find our buddy User ID is a proud Nikon shooter, with all those AI options.

DON'T PRESS IT !!!

The whole universe could be just a simulation and crash if you press it.

I've seen that on a movie

On older Nikons (pre F3) AI stood for auto indexing. This is where you would rack the lens to its widest aperture to set the meter pin and allow for open aperture metering. But an AI button?????
