I haven't used my 70D for about a month. I was asked to do some Christmas portraits yesterday. I started making some adjustments and found that the main dial wouldn't turn. The outside temperature was only 60 degrees F. I could barely turn the dial it was so stiff. Eventuly after working it back and forth it did loosen some, it works fine for adjustments, but is still really hard to move using just your thumb or finger. Has anyone had a similar problem or have maybe a fix for it?

Is there a center button to push to free the dial for turning?
I had some grit get under a dial on one of my cameras that made it nearly impossible to turn. A vacuum cleaner got it out and freed up the dial. No guarantee it would work for you ,but might be worth a try.
I wonder if that was why you put it away, then forgot about it?
Revhen, you are referring to the mode dial on the right side of the 70D, I am referring to the wheel on the left side vertical axis.
Sorry I have them backwards mode is on left side and the vertical wheel is on the right front top.
It didn't feel gritty, just really very stiff.
I never put my cameras away, they are always ready to go. I just hadn't used the 70D for a month or so.
