I don't put much stock in Consumers Reports - it seems when they review something I am very familiar with, I often don't agree with them. But I'm sure they were comparing photos from your phone to other higher end phones. I can't tell much about the image quality from such a small file. If we could compare full resolution photos from your phone to full resolution photos from better phones, we might see their point.

I have a four-year old Motorola G6, and it seems like you win some, you lose some with it. I like your shot, which is pretty good considering the time of year and the light we've been getting 🤍🤍🤍
I did over sharpen the first one but to my ancient eyes the earlier version looked a little fuzzy. Thanks for all your comments. I like the earlier one, too. To me the "eye" thus the composition is by far the most important factor in taking photos.
I read Consumer Reports for about a year. I was researching a new ink jet printer and they had a HP model ranked highest with about 3-4 stars out of 5. Read the reviews from the members and they had it rated 1 of 5 stars. I let the subscription lapse and haven't looked back.
