I generally check the HOG on my phone. I hit “Reply” and when the keyboard appears I tap the “icon” key…it appears on the bottom left on my screen…and select “👍” as many times as I want:

When I click reply I get them under the send button, convenient before I've had enough coffee in the morning.

They should show up below the wow window. If they do not, click the "show smileys".

The code in Word is Alt128077. Here it gives me M. You can produce it in Word, then copy and paste it here. 👍
PS: you have to use the numeric keypad with the alt key, not the number keys at the top of the keyboard.
