Acting on the email I received, I installed
four new extensions from Skylum into Luminar Neo, which is now up to version 1.5.0. The new extensions are Upscale AI, Background Removal AI, Focus Stacking, and Supersharp AI. That now brings to six the number of extensions, on top of HDR Merge and Noiseless AI. I've just now begun to tinker with them, and right now the results are mixed. I don't want to
or
anything just yet, as first I have to dismiss my preset expectations. Still, the folks at Skylum aren't sitting still, and Neo is becoming quite the feature-rich photo editor!
Skylum is great at promotion, poor at delivery.
These extensions are features other all-in-ones provide as their base application at no extra charge. Photoshop / LR or On1 come to mind. Their current sales model is pushing you to buy the subscription or pay hundreds to get the extensions.
Too many broken promises so although I own Neo I'm done and will stick with stable applications.

Same here.
Those "extensions" are pretty standard by now...

Luminar in its many forms is great at sky replacement and only thing I use it for. Many other software packages that do the remainder of things better (and for less $$$'s).

I have a Mac Studio and it is extremely slow. I have the last 3 and out of all of them NEO is the slowest I click and have to wait for the affect to take place. This is the last version I will purchase.
Don't most of the companies you mentioned have a subscription model where you get all updates? I believe that LR/PS is subscription only. Personally I don't find 89.00 a year to be expensive.

100% true.
With ON1 you just hover over an object and the mask magically appears. Instantly.
On NEO the image is analysed forever (on my really beefy watercooled rig it takes *minutes* ) and then every click seems to freez the soft for loooong time.
Not acceptable.
