Extreme wide angle lenses could be a lot of fun. They are excellent choices for architectural photography, specially interiors but using them require a different approach to other wide angle lenses.
I guess that coming closer to the subject is a very good general approach. Those lenses tend to exaggerate the size of objects nearby while receding those in the background making them much smaller. The judicious use of these lenses often result in excellent images. I saw also the images you shot of interiors with your lens and they look very nice to me.
I have the Nikon 12-24 f4 AF-S, a lens I have owned for several years and that I regret not using more often than I do. Although it is an excellent DX lens I have used it with my D610 full frame between 16 and 24 mm with excellent results and no vignettes.
