YES!
For most MECHANICAL Clocks, Time moves FORWARD!
DON'T assume than you can turn a gear clock back just because it lets you!

CBS also said that with every time change, viewership dropped.

You were obviously milking the wrong cow.

So you’re in the “set the clocks back an hour, set the country back 50 years” camp.

No. I’m not in that camp. But let’s all be careful before the admin swats us like a bunch of gnats!

Correct. Mechanical clocks like grandfather clocks need to be moved forward 11 hours.

Not all clocks are the same. My grandfather clock has the minute hand pinned to the minute axle, but the hour hand is a friction fit onto the hour axle, so it can be moved easily either way for changes of hour.

When we had a lot of schools with Electromechanical Master Clocks,
We would send 2 techs around an hour apart for Fall Back.
The first tech turned OFF the Clock and the Second tech would turn it on an hour later.
This also corrected the secondary clocks.

Sorry, a long way from photography!

Back in the days of analog electric clocks my dad would flip the main breaker to the house for exactly one hour. Voila! They were all moved back an hour. This didn't work in the spring, of course.

I am of the opinion that switching the clock back and forth is an evil conspiracy to annoy sensible folks. Death to Daylight Savings Time!

I’m with you. One way or the other, but this switching is ridiculous.

In the spring, the power would have to be off for 13 hours, not very convenient.

You left out stupid responses still good to see the constant whine of success and profits.

...let's see 'em. Most of you complainers don't work outside. DST is a blessing for us.
