Our current ISP is crap and the service is crap-py. We now get wonderful 5G service in our very rural area.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I’m interested in the speed - have you benchmarked it?

I lived in Port Orchard as a kid. My parents remained there and had Wave until they died. It was terrible.
Now in Lacey, T-Mobile is teasing with a 5G system priced lower than the dominant and unfriendly Comcast. I'm tempted but don't "qualify" yet.

Verizon is offering me 300down for $35.00 a month. Free box that is in the mail.

That's good! I'm going to check with Verizon here in Lacey.

It is highly dependent on the service / cell tower near you.
We get good service most of the time but with occasional interruptions, a time or two per month.

If your current ISP is terrible, you may find internet using cellular service to be useful. I have a 4G hotspot that works decently but is not as fast as internet provided by my cable company. There are cellular routers that can have serious antennas to improve service in rural areas. 5G is oversold, indeed, most users will not see improvement over 4G. The fastest speeds are confined to radio frequencies that are short range and won't pass through walls. The fastest modes are suitable for use inside manufacturing plants and the like except that all of this can be done cheaper using WIFI or Bluetooth.

But does it work well?
I suppose that depends on what you are looking for.
We use it for home service, internet and TV, and when in the house we put our cell phones on WiFi, so they are also working through it. We have had this service for a few months now.
We have never had any issues with our cell phones.
For TV, we sometimes have a momentary pause while it loads up the video stream, usually no more than several seconds. This seems to happen more often during peak hours, Friday nights and weekend afternoons.
I gave you the internet speeds. And, as I said, we have an occasional hiccup, on the order of once or twice a month. Rebooting the gateway and the mesh routers seems to fix that problem.
So, yes, it works well enough for us. And we were fed up with our previous cable company, so this is a pleasant change.
If the cell tower should go down, then all bets are off.
