As you probably noticed, I often post links when someone asks a question. Many of these links are several years old, yet the company will usually update them. For example, clicking on the link "Best compact cameras of 2019" will probably get you "Best compact cameras of 2022." That's not always the case, though. I just tried a few, and several of them are either about other photography topics, or they were dead.
With 161 pages and over 3,000 links, I'm not going to check on all of them. I do random checks, but with that many, it would be a full-time job. So, if I give you a link that doesn't work, accept my apology.
Maybe just delete them all.
Jerry, consider the following:
1. provide links only for the more obscure queries. Instead, by private message educate the user on how to use Google... or is it Duckie Go Away Duckie
2. write the information directly into the thread, from your own search.

Maybe there are some hoarding problems in play

You've barely scratched the surface.
Seriously, when someone asks a question, I don't like to type the first thing that pops into my head. I like to give links to "professional" sites, and let the poster draw his own conclusions. People have often called me a "wise guy," but I think they were just flattering me. : )

I don't think I have ever followed one of your answer links. Much of my morning is taken by reading UHH and I don't care to waste time on your "spray and pray" links. I don't let it annoy me, though. I just scroll on by.
I find many of your links helpful, and appreciate the editorial effort to select on-point responses.
Most UHH members understand that stale links are a fact of internet life so I wouldn't worry about that issue at all.

Hard to imagine why it would or should “annoy” you anyway as someone is unselfishly trying to provide help and information.
If you only put 1 or 2 in a post, I would check them as you post them.
Just for trivia.... my aviation photograph website, under construction since 1998, now has 16,277 pages with 154,953 links. I have an old program that finds bad links within the website. I have to use an old computer just for that purpose. For bad links to other websites, I have to rely on site visitors to inform me.

Perhaps before giving the link here click on it then and there to verify before posting.
If it doesn't work then discard it before sharing.

I try to post four or more links to give the reader variety. If three out of four have the same opinion, that's pretty reliable.
