My life has been associated with dolls. The first picture is my mother as a young girl with her Grace Putnam "newborn" doll - cloth body and bisque head. Very popular in the 1920s. It amazes me that it survived intact as we (my sisters and I) played with the doll constantly just as if it were a "newborn". The second doll is a "Patsy Doll". My mother had a smaller version also in the 1920s, and said if she ever had a girl with brown eyes, her name would be Patsy (and that is what she always called me). These bring back special memories for sure.

The last doll is also very special - jointed, human hair, pierced ears and I believe "original" clothing. We were engaged on Christmas Eve, 1969, and this, in addition to a diamond ring, was the gift my now husband gave to me.

Yeah, I was drooling over some of these boards until my 89 year old dad says "we're going to put a new sliding door on this opening.

I guess you can tell this was my first attempt at posting to a forum. I was replying to a post about craftsmen loving old barn wood, didn't reference the post, and now can't find it. Plus meant to post two pictures and hit send too soon. I'll catch on.

...here're a few from my government-sponsored SE Asian vacation, some fun and some luck (cuz I *did* roll that one up into a little ball and walked out smilin') and a disgruntled Huey Driver at Khe Sanh (I have no idea who took that shot, but somehow it got back to me far after the fact...but it's me!) the others were staged by me with a helper behind the camera.

Took this picture in 2007 of my two dogs. They were roaming around our large yard when I called them. I pointed at the ground in front of me and told them to sit so I could take their picture. They both sat down as you see them with no help from me. It was just like they both understood exactly what I was saying and what they were supposed to do.. And it was a first posed picture for both of them with no prior practice. I imagine other people's pets might do the same. Maggie and Miles were really great pets.

I guess, amongst other opportunities, this is a time when we might show some images which long predate ourselves, but are taken from family collections which serve to recall forebears and display styles of their time. For most of these images, I do not have dates, so leave you to judge, given their dates of birth

Myself, brothers, and sister at the site where we and our parents spent good times camping on Alice Creek. We hadn't been there for years. It was surprising how much brush had grown, and how much smaller the creek was than I remembered. I hadn't been there for 50 or so years. I'm on the left, sister next in age, then bearded boy, and last the youngest, 16 years my junior. It was great to have a chance to spend a few days together, just the four of us.
