I have done pretty thorough testing with my RX100 VII to see if using its CIZ and cropping down or just cropping down a photo without using the CIZ yields the better image quality. It was a wash. In other words, I was disappointed that the CIZ was worse half the time and better half the time than just cropping an image that I took at the full 200 mm. At the same time, the fact that with CIZ I could not see the focus point was really irritating. The focus frame is small to start but the second CIZ kicks in it disappears.

Didn't print any of the test images. Just looked at them on my monitor.
