The Museum of Fine Arts Boston is having a show on Life Magazine Photos right now. Worth going to. Some really great photographs in the show.

In a similar vein, there is a traveling exhibition of Saturday Evening Post covers by Norman Rockwell. When I was back east this summer, couldn't arrange my schedule to see it.

Fifty years ago approximately I bought a copy of 'The Best of Life', a compilation of the magazine's almost 40 years. To this day I enjoy thumbing through it.

Bragging rights for 62 years. In 1960, as a young 22 year old Navy photographer stationed in Hawaii, my pictures were twice featured in LIFE MAGAZINE. One of them went on to win a second place in the "Features" category in the first all military world-wide annual photo contest. The contest was sponsored by Enclyopedia Britanica and judged by the Missouri School of Journalism. The other picture was posted "centerfold like" (two full pages) in the front portion of that issue. I believe you can read a small number of Washington Post articles free each month. Sometimes you can fool the pay wall by using a different browser to read more than allowed, but here's the Post link. Thanks for the tip, Jerry. This does look like a great exhibition.
