I got all excited seeing your photo...my husband and I are going to Borneo next September! It's been a dream trip for us! When were you there? I especially love shooting wildlife, looking forward to seeing lots on that trip!

Its been about 4 years. Be ready for amazing landscape shots in the rainforest (more wide angle than long lens), but 3 things so be aware of:
1. Wettest air I have ever experienced. No place for cotton. Expect to sweat. I'm from the Gulf Coast, and still it can make home seem dry by comparison
2. Terrestrial leeches are to be expected (not the "escargot" kind, but the cute little "inchworm" kind). No kind of socks don't stop them. Plan on hiking boots and purchase "leech guards" before you leave or be prepared for blood loss. Not an exaggeration.
3. Likely will be many overcast days, not normally what one wants for photos. But the steamy fog can make for great photos (search "Borneo Mist" posting under my name for an example) you might not get anywhere else, so it is a tradeoff.
have a great trip!

The DL does add some depth for sure. Is a trip worth taking, but there are challenges (see my reply to Terry above)
