Twisted around to see who is watching.

A Coopers Hawk on one of the water dishes senses that someone is watching and twists its head to check me out. Some hawks can twist their head up to 270°. So this one isn't straining at all.
An adaptation of a hunter who goes after small birds in brush and trees and often on the fly.

R7, RF 100-400 @ 400, 1/400 @ f/8.0, ISO-3200
tripod out open door at about 40-45' 9-25-22 a bit after 6PM in open shade with lightly hazed sky above.

I never thought a hawk could pose and show a quizzical look. Really nice shot.

You sure get a lot of excellent Cooper's Hawk shots from your yard...mine never stop for long and just glide past the feeders!!
