Joe, thanks for hosting a wonderful challenge. Wow, you all have submitted magnificent photos of fall in your area and what fall means to you. Thanks so much for sharing!
Fall and what it means to me. It means I managed to survive 3/4 of the year, through winters cold, springs beauty, and summers sweltering heat. It also means cooler temps, bon fires, smores, weinny roasts, hot chocolate and candy corn. Ghosts and goblins will soon be knocking at the door. So, now it's time to put away summer yard ornaments, mow for the last time of the year, and vacuum up leaves for the compost and clean up the fence line. It's also a reminder that winter's blast (which I absolutely dread) is just a mere few weeks away.
Pick the remaining tomatoes and peppers in my tiny garden. Prepare the soil for the next year's plants.

Annual cleaning of the fence rows.

Turn compost piles.

Time to store birdbaths and fountains for the winter.

Sadly, it's time to take down the hummingbird feeders and store till next spring.

Clean & store the last remaining fountain before the freeze of winter.

Bring in the plants before freezing temps hit my area.

And lastly, enjoy the only tree in town turning color.

So here i am through page 11 and have enjoyed each of the posts you all have shared. Our color change won't come until a little later, but I can see some changes starting that will portend that fall had happened somewhere. The neighbors pride of barbados is showing some decline though blooms are still vivid.....
