This is a first for me. I came across an old iPod, at least ten years old. I charged it, but it wouldn't turn on. When I removed it from its protective case, I saw that the screen was lifted up from one side. Then I found out why: the battery was so swollen that it pushed the right side of the screen away from the body. With the case in place, I couldn't tell if it was like that before I charged it, but it's obviously no good now. I wouldn't even offer it "For Parts" on eBay. I've never had a battery swell before.
