2 versions of a lily

I was trying to clean up my flower files, of which there are hundreds, because I can't seem to throw anything away. I came across this one, which I, apparently don't remember. Here are 2 versions of the shot. Thanks for Looking

Nice shot Fran. I find the out of focus flower on the first one to be very distracting. On the other hand the background in the second one is perfect. I therefore chose No. 2

On this, I like the color better. It just looks better to me.

I think God was right when He put color lilies - I studied with Ansel Adams and he very much wanted to do what he did in color (he would have loved Photoshop) - but when he tried the darkroom things he did using color media it didn’t work - the only reason he did his work in B&W was that until after WWII color photography really didn’t exist

Thanks Jack, I see what you mean about the color one. Maybe I'll try making the background on it more blurred

First and foremeost, how very cool to have studied with Ansel Adams. Thanks for your input. I was torn on between the 2
