Talk to the agent that does your home owners. They usually can write a rider policy that covers it and they are usually cheap. I have had mine insured that way for years, only had to use it once and they took care of it with no issues. I believe they call it a personal articles policy also.

Ditto that idea. State Farm holds everything we have...cars, house etc. and now a policy for my camera equipment. Price is about $30 a yr. for about $3000 in equipment.
State Farm they charge me $1.36 a hundered for my insurance.

I'd look at an insurance company which specializes in photographic equipment. In my experience, from many years ago, the generic household insurance policy writers and claims agents know little of the particulars and value of specialized equipment. I'd suspect that specialists do.
I'm insured with State Farm for replacement value. Cost for approximately $9,000 of equipment is around $99.

Same here. My State Farm policy has been fine. About a hundred a year for about ten thousand in equipment. Sure gives peace of mind!
We have lumped camera gear in with household cover.Works for us.
Looks lie the cost per year is about 10% of the value of the equipment.

List them on your homeowners policy. They will then pay full replacement value for any loss.
Cost should be 1% of insured value per year.
You will have to provide invoices.
I use USAA. I provided them a list of items with serial numbers and current replacement price (eletronically). Insurance issued within 12 hours and effective immediately.
To place on Homeowner's Policy, you cannot be involved in photography for profit.

I have mine insured thru my homeowners policy. I have 10K of insurance for $110.00, the coverage is for loss, damage and theft. I had to provide my receipts and serial numbers for my equipment and the coverage is for full replacement cost.
I pay about $35 per month for occasional business insurance that gives me liability insurance and equipment coverage for about $4000 in equipment through West Bend Insurance. As I recall they base the rate on annual income from the activity and a percentage of the equipment price. Equipment is covered for both accidental damage and theft.
