Chump was Putin's lapdog for the entirety of his presidency, famously refusing to say anything remotely critical about him.
Chump had, before AND during his squatting in the White House, threatened, many times to withdraw from NATO... which was Putin's fondest dream. His relative restraint during the Chump presidency was a function of a reasonable expectation he might get everything he wanted without having to fire a shot.
Chump's erratic behavior was not a concern for Putin but, rather an asset.
