I don't think I would have visited it. On a visit to Poland I stayed in the Visitor Center while the rest of the group toured a concentration camp. My imagination is too intense for those places. Good photos, though.
Yes, this was my era as well. In college so there were deferments. As a female, the draft didn’t affect me, but the guys certainly were and by extension so were we. So many lives lost and limbs and mental health.
We have visited this former prison as well, and I found it dark and menacing and scary. I don’t understand how they could say prisoners were treated humanely. They weren’t.
It was interesting the Vietnamese called it “The American War”.

I am to some degree enjoying this series. But a trip to Saigon (Now Ho Che Min City) might be a better destination. There are more in the Southern region that would also be good places to visit. I think some Marines could give you suggestions as well. Most of what you have posted is pretty much the same in the Southern part of the country except got the Delta.
Thanks for the thumbs Frank.

Through the years way too many Americans have bled suffered and died overseas for the cause of freedom. I have never owned a foreign made vehicle of any kind and never will!
Vietnam was hell if you were there or not!
I agree Dan. Thanks for commenting.

Nice and accurate history report! It was the most feared place for me as a Naval Aviator from '68 to '72.
Thanks very much Gary. I appreciate your comments.

I remember the draft and was fortunate enough to have gotten a number that was safe.
Thanks for commenting Bill.
I was issued orders in 1972 for Hakata, Japan. They were changed to RVN before I finished my AIT.
Phu Bai and Da Nang 1972-1973.
Thanks for the thumbs Jack.
