I know some of you talked about what you were thankful for on Thanksgiving, our post with no host day...and I hope you dont mind that we are going to try to express gratitude again through our images today as per the calendar.

RED will get you out of self disclosure for free.

I am so grateful for having been raised by loving parents and scrappy siblings who taught me to reach high and fight my own battles. I got lucky with a good hubby too

I have a deep lust for travel and visiting new places...I am grateful to have had the vision necessary to explore new places and cultures different then my own.

It is always nice to come home though and I feel grateful to have been born in the land of the free...where the RED WHITE A BLUE SOARS...but mostly RED

and of course it goes without saying that I am grateful for all of you who I share so many hours with on a daily basis.

almost 25 years now so yea its from the archives and i didnt even take it

Wilda Vail Carten, 1910 - 1997

The one who gave me life and who saved my life.

June 22, 1938

Boy, sure is dark in here, must have slept for a few days. I found my fingers this morning and my toes this afternoon although I cannot see them. Heard my mother’s voice, she was talking to my grandmother.

Getting to like it in here as I can move some and enjoy the conversation outside. Those Sunday rides are pleasant and I sleep occasionally. When I move my mother puts my father’s hand on her stomach, sure wish that he’d drive with both hands! The only thing I do not particularly like here is the doctor pushing me around and his cold stethoscope. We went bowling last night and I slept profoundly afterwards. The doctor says that everything is normal here; pickles, ice cream and the odd beer. If that’s normal, fine with me.

Times are rapidly changing. I’m moving and it is not me who is moving me, someone is grabbing my head and pulling …. Lots of lights, hard on the eyes … the calendar on the wall says June 22, 1938.

My mother, holding me gives thanks to God for his gift. As she turns to me and says,

‘’I give you life, be kind to it; I shall love you for the rest of my life, please accept it.’’

RiverNan beautiful keepsake of you and your husband - handsome couple or what!!!......my photography skills lack the ability to capture what I'd like to add, so I hope the following will paint the picture for me:0)

Things to be Thankful for......

So many things in life are free that money just can't buy,
The love and warmth of family and kinsman standing by,
And drinking from a glass half full opposed to one half empty,
Is guaranteed to reap rewards and benefits a plenty,
So lift your eyes and witness all the beauty of the sky,
And drink the heady perfume of the roses you pass by,
Listen to the melody a babbling brook will make,
And the music of our children as they laugh for laughter's sake,
Listen to the silence, its cacophony of sound,
Embrace the simple goodness that in nature all abounds,
Be kind it costs you nothing but a gracious thought and smile,
And the ripple from this gesture will echo long a while,
Feel the inner beauty you will find when you are whole,
The peace and soft surrender of a simple carefree soul,
For life's to short to remonstrate or harbour petty feuds,
To fester on the negative or self destructive brood,
So raise a glass and join me in an "Ugly Hedgehog Toast"
To the kindness and the diligence of "Daily Challenge Hosts"
Good health is wealth incalculable and worry such a waste,
So drink a draught of life's great gift and relish her sweet taste!

I got a helping hand with the Christmas Decorations this morning and it is Red!
