The pictures are very impressive! It made me wonder about how they clean up all the gear after a fire. And I guess they must thoroughly inspect the condition after a call. Their lives could depend on a small weak spot.
Really nice series. Hopefully, you've provided these photographs to the people who are featured in them.

I spent seven formative years in Peoria, and never had a run in with the fire department. I'm sure they are the best, as Peoria has high standards that people would be surprised about. My son was born at St. Francis Hospital, 45 years ago, and just got married. I have great memories of that city and of course Bradley University!

Wow. Just think how great those would have been in color.
Congratulations on submitting some incredible photos of firefighters. They deserve all the thanks we can give them.

Some rugged guys who have done a rugged job...Again. Great photos!
Outstanding set of images. . . .
Very nice photos, I can't image how hot it is working with all that gear on in a fire. Kudos to all the Firefighters!
Great photos of "firefighters".
I was a firefighter for 25 years, and the last thing we would have in our pockets was a camera.
Those guys would probably appreciate any pix that you could send into their headquarters.
With the advent of the cell phone camera, the FF's will be able to catch shots like never before.
Outstanding work. Your pictures tell a gripping story of men putting their lives on the line, battling heat, smoke, and danger in service to others.
P.S. I used to live in Morton, IL and my children were born in Peoria.
