As a "teachers" you should either learn to spell or learn proper grammar. As a Science teachers, you should be able to use the internet to solve your problem. Best of luck.

As a teachers, I have made 8x10 prints of "promos" for my fall and spring class. "Physics for Poets" and "Light, Sound, and Electricity". I've hung them in about a dozen locations to remind students at enrollment time. My little supply is nearly exhausted. So so you have a recommended company that I can go to, to send a .jpg, and obtain color prints?

Thanks all,
Bill

If you have a Sam's Club or Costco membership, you can send them a file and get really excellent prints for a very low price. You can even get poster-sized prints for a very reasonable price.

I just attempted to sign up for a Costco account, without having a membership. The progress was halted because the membership field was left blank. If anyone knows a way around this, please let me know.

Many school portrait companies sell similar products in larger poster formats. They are usually used in elementary schools to promote reading. We made them at Herff Jones Photography for many of our wholesale customers (HJ Photography no longer exists).

Talk to a good commercial lab about volume discounts on the same 8x10 print. Companies like mPix or WHCC or Bay Photo or UPI Lab or Shutterfly are worth a look.

Anyone can do research through the internet. The reason for posting questions such as Bill's is to cut through the red tape and get to the chase by having your friends and fellow Hoggers reply with their best practices and experiences. Telling a fellow Hogger to essentialy go pound sand and do the research, themselves is not in the spirit of this platform. Arguments and discussions are one thing. What this Hogger did is egregious and insulting.

For a large number of prints, Bay Photo is a good choice. You might also check to see if the school has a corporate Costco Membership. I know it is a hassle to make proposals and then to get approvals from large school entities -assuming you are at a large school- but once you set it all up, you won't have to pay "out-of-pocket" for business expenses.

Have a great day!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you are merely needing more copies to put around in various places, and not giving them out as examples of the quality your photography, why don't you do what delder, above, suggests and buy enough color copies from your local office supply store or elsewhere to meet your needs. Your classes sound interesting.

Thank you RodeoMan. My students tell me that my class is interesting to them. The fall class is the Physics of Light, Sound, and Electricity, and geared for photography majors, audio majors, animation majors, and the entire Theater Department has made my class required for all their students. As you may have already suspected, I teach the physics of those three topics, but I supplement everywhere with application they have seen about them, applications they can take with them after the course is over. My spring class is called Physics for Poets. Why? A colleague, who teaches chemistry, announced at a department meeting that when he gets my student, he is impressed that they can write. Hence, why he was the one who suggested that my course name should be changed to Physics for Poets. Yes, I do require them to write detailed lab reports, and every test will have an essay section. Why? I never want them to accept anything I say unless it makes total sense to them. Knowing there could be an essay question on any topic at all, causes them to be inquisitive throughout the semester. That class is heavily populated with Ed Majors. Being a teacher myself with 55 years of teaching experience, I thoroughly enjoy have future teachers in my class studying physics, where I can -also- talk with them about secrets in teaching.

I want to thank all of you who have given me suggestions about where I can get 8x10 prints made. I've checked each recommended website, and bookmarked nearly all of them.

Oh, one more thing. With the number of years teaching, first at high school AP Physics, and then 25 more years teaching college level physics (and intending 20 more years teaching), -teaching- is my first passion. And my second passion is photography. Like so many of you, I began with a film camera when I was in high school, and have continued to this day with so many digital images. If you've been to Rome, or even if not, you may be familiar with the Spanish Steps. I have a 6' high, 12' wide canvas wrap of the Spanish Steps. I have more wrapped canvas prints, not wanting to bore you with, but I've always felt welcomed here, among others for whom photography is also their passion.
Thanks all. Bill

You don't have a simple HP or Canon or Epson or you get the idea inkjet printer? Why send them anywhere?

Once upon a time, I printed all of my images, and used an excellent Canon printer. An "updated" operating system would not recognize that printer, so I sold it. I even sold it to a fellow UHH member. So that is when I moved over to wrapped canvas. That is why I don't have a ink jet printer.

I hang about 10 8x10 "posters" in the fall, and ten more (different content) in the spring. So that is not much in quantity, but my department chair suggest I do this when a new colleague wanted to offer "competition" to my courses. The posters have been very successful.

For this kind of stuff I use my local Walgreens. Results are somewhat random but not a biggie. A hint: Although I use Firefox as my browser, when making purchases consider using MS Edge. It has a feature that automatically checks the web for coupons. It usually halves my costs at Walgreens.

What browser could I use on a Mac that checks for coupons?
